What is included when I purchase a Cyclone Rake?

For most people, everything you need to fit up to your tractor. The exceptions are (A) if you don’t have a usable mower deck boot you can purchase ours and (B) a small number of tractors need a 3 point hitch adapter. A call to our Customer Service department at 888-531-7253 can answer any of your questions about the fit up to your tractor.

What is a 3-point hitch and do I need one?

3-pt-hitch-info2The 3-point hitch is a standardized method of attaching implements (equipment) to larger garden tractors. The hitch uses two lower connection points and one upper point which provides a rigid connection. Hydraulic cylinders operate on the lower arms to raise and lower the implement. If the back of your tractor looks like the pictures to the right, then you would need to purchase our 3-Point Hitch Adapter.

Does the Cyclone Rake mulch, or is it just a vacuum?

The Cyclone Rake does it all and provides another level of mulching after your mower blades do the initial lifting and cutting. The patented Miracle Impeller creates 10 times the lifting power of most mowers to vacuum and mulch debris.

Since one size does not fit all, the Cyclone Rake vacuum/mulcher and Miracle Impeller are specially designed for each Cyclone Rake model. Check out our features page for more information.

Do my mower blades need to be running?

The blades on your mower will need to be be running while the Cyclone Rake is in operation. For maximum pickup you may want to use high lift blades to provide optimal lift in conjunction with the Cyclone Rake vacuum system. The only time the blades would not be running is if you are using the Power Vacuum Pick Up or Estate Vacuum accessories.

How much time and effort will I save?

Most people are amazed when we tell them the Cyclone Rake will literally change their life. But don't take our word for it. Check out our testimonials page to read what customers say. And use our free referral service to talk to a neighbor near you who owns one.

It will almost certainly save you days or weeks of hard labor every year. For leaf removal, as an example, one person using the Cyclone Rake can do the job of a 3 to 5 man landscaping crew with almost no effort at all. There’s no lifting, dragging or bagging to worry about. And debris is mulched so it composts beautifully. It’s far superior to other kinds of leaf equipment, such as a leaf blower or grass catcher.

Is it just for leaf removal?

The Cyclone Rake is terrific for year round lawn and property care, not just for leaf collection. It will sweep your lawns almost carpet-clean and eliminate 90% or more of the weed seeds that mowers just scatter around. Plus, you’ll be able to mow huge areas without stopping to unload. You can clear overgrown fields and off-lawn areas too. The Cyclone Rake will work for any debris that’s safe for your mower blades.

Will it pick up pine needles, acorns, nuts and seed pods?

Pine needles are an unqualified “yes”. That includes long-needle pine straw, common in the Southeast. For acorns, nuts and seed pods, you can expect to get up nearly all of them if they are on bare earth and you set your mower deck to the lowest cutting height and use high-lift blades. If they are deeply buried in thick grass, you may need to rake or blow them into small piles, then drive over them to pick them up. As an alternative, you can use our Power Vacuum Pickup accessory to suck them out of the lawn. The Power Vacuum Pickup will get up just about anything that’s not hard-frozen to the ground.

What happens if I pick-up a hidden stick?

Well, chances are you won't see that stick again.  Anything that’s safe to drive over with your mower blades is OK for the Cyclone Rake. Of course, you should remove heavy sticks, long branches, rocks or anything else that’s not safe for your mower. A quick walk around your property before mowing should always be done if you’re not sure whether something dangerous may be hiding below.  Always be aware of what might be hiding under your deep drifts or piles of leaves.

What is the diameter of the Estate Vacuum and the Power Vacuum Pickup hose?

The hose diameter for the Estate Vacuum and Power Vacuum Pickup is 6 inches.

Does the Mower Deck Adapter (MDA) come with the Cyclone Rake?

At Woodland Power Products we take a "menu" approach which allows customers to design their Cyclone Rakes for their specific applications and circumstances. Our objective is to get you the right tool for your applications.

Many people already have a mower deck boot for their tractor and don’t need a Mower Deck Adapter. So, we don't want to charge them for something they already have. (However, we do think our MDA is superior to mower manufacturers’ boots, and we do recommend it, but we don’t want to force anybody to buy ours.) Click here to visit our install page to learn more about our standard and custom installations.

What type of engine is on the SuperHauler?

The SuperHauler is powered by a heavy-duty Kohler HD775 engine. It features a cast iron cylinder sleeve, overhead valve construction, and turn-key electric starting for robust reliability, smooth, quiet power delivery, and easy starting.

What type of battery is on the SuperHauler?

The SuperHauler’s electric start uses a sealed, factory-activated lead acid battery.

Will I be able to move the machine if the engine is not on?

Yes, simply pull the transmission release pin out to allow the SuperHauler to roll.  You must push the transmission release tab in when you are ready to operate to re-engage the transmission.

How does the hydrostatic transmission work?

There are no gears changes to change speeds on the SuperHauler.  The hydrostatic transmission features infinitely variable speed control on the fly!

When you want to move forward, push down on the brake release lever and pull up on the forward/reverse control.  The further you pull the faster you will go.

To back up, push down on the brake release lever and then push down with your right thumb on the forward/reverse control. The more you push the faster you will go.  NOTE:  The reverse speed control is mechanically limited so that reverse will be slower than forward at its limit (so you don’t run yourself over!)

How fast will the SuperHauler go?

The SuperHauler will go 3-4 mph Forward, and 1-2 mph in Reverse.

What is the Terra Traction feature?

The Terra Traction feature will lock the two drive wheels together in situations where one drive wheel may lose traction.  Just release the forward/reverse lever and kick the Terra Traction pedal down with your foot.  Now the front wheels are locked together and you will have better traction.  Once you are moving again lift the pedal up to release.  Leaving the Terra Traction on in normal conditions will make the SuperHauler more difficult to steer.

How does it handle going downhill with a load? Will it tip forward?

The SuperHauler’s hydrostatic transmission provides plenty of speed control while going down hills. To slow down, just let the forward/ reverse control handle out. To stop completely, let go of the forward/ reverse control and brake release levers. The SuperHauler is very stable, and will not tip forward if stopped under control with the bin evenly loaded.

What is the max degree of grade will it climb with a load?

The SuperHauler will climb a 15-degree slope with a 500-pound load. Never operate on slopes greater than 20 degrees.

What size are the front & back tires on the SuperHauler?

The front tires on the SuperHauler are 16 x 6.50 – 8.
Translation: They are 16 inches in diameter, 6 1/2 inches wide, and fit an 8-inch wheel.

The rear tires are 10 inches in diameter, and 3 1/2 inches wide.

The front tires are tubeless, the rear tires have tubes.

The Bulk Bin as packaged weighs 30 lbs.
The Flexi-Deck as packaged weights 90lbs.
The pallet that the SuperHauler ships on weighs 65lbs.
