1. WILL THE CYCLONE RAKE WORK WITH MY TRACTOR?
The Cyclone Rake will fit just about any tractor or riding mower as long as the mower deck discharge is on the right hand side (as seen from the driver’s seat).

We Custom Fit Your Tractor!
Because there are many manufacturers’ variations (even among machines with the same manufacturer’s model number), you will need to talk to one of our Cyclone Rake installation experts at the time of your order, to make sure you get a perfect fit. Visit our how to install page to learn more about our custom installations. Or call our Cyclone Rake support team at (888) 531-7253.

2. DO I NEED A RIDING MOWER TO USE IT?
Yes, the Cyclone Rake leaf collecting machine hitches to the back of your riding mower and makes lawn and leaf cleanup about as easy as it can be. And because we have 5 different models, we can fit up to almost any right side discharge mower.

3. WHICH CYCLONE RAKE IS BEST FOR ME?
Ahhh, we love this question! And we love helping you to get just the right leaf removal equipment that will suit your needs. We're happy to talk about this, so feel free to call one of our Cyclone Rake Specialists at (888) 531-7253 to help you decide.

There are several things you should think about when choosing a Cyclone Rake. For example, what size property are you maintaining, how much debris will be collected and what size mower will be used with the Cyclone Rake. Take a look at our comparison chart for more information. And, we encourage you to use free referral service to contact a neighbor near you who owns a Cyclone Rake, and may have a similar property and debris.

4. WHAT IS INCLUDED WHEN I PURCHASE A CYCLONE RAKE?
For most people, everything you need to fit up to your tractor. The exceptions are: (A) if you don’t have a useable mower deck boot, you will need to purchase ours. (B) a small number of tractors need a custom hitch. These are included in the price. However, there is one exception. If you have a tractor with a 3-point hitch, you would need to purchase our 3-point hitch adapter. See below (question 6) for an example. If you are still unsure, give us a call and one of our installation experts will be able to give you specifics.

5. DOES THE MOWER DECK ADAPTOR (MDA) COME WITH IT?
At Woodland Power Products we take a "menu" approach which allows customers to design their Cyclone Rakes for their specific applications and circumstances. Our objective is to get you the right tool for your applications.

Many people already have a mower deck boot for their tractor and don’t need a Mower Deck Adapter. So, we don't want to charge them for something they already have. (However, we do think our MDA is superior to mower manufacturers’ boots, and we do recommend it, but we don’t want to force anybody to buy ours.) 6. WHAT IS A 3-POINT HITCH ADAPTER, AND DO I NEED ONE?
The three-point hitch is a standardized method of attaching implements (equipment) to larger garden tractors. The hitch uses two lower connection points and one upper point which provides a rigid connection. Hydraulic cylinders operate on the lower arms to raise and lower the implement. If the back of your tractor looks like the pictures to the right, then you would need to purchase our 3-Point Hitch Adapter.

7. DOES THE CYCLONE RAKE MULCH, OR IS IT JUST A VACUUM?
Yes, the Cyclone Rake does it all and provides another level of mulching after your mower blades do the initial lifting and cutting. The patented Miracle Impeller creates 10 times the lifting power of most mowers to vacuum and mulch debris. Since one size does not fit all, the Cyclone Rake vacuum system and Miracle Impeller are specially designed for each Cyclone Rake model. Check out our features page for more information.

8. DO MY MOWER BLADES NEED TO BE RUNNING?
Yes, the blades on your mower will need to be running while the Cyclone Rake is in operation. We do recommend using a high lift blade to provide optimal lift in conjunction with the Cyclone Rake vacuum system. The only time the blades would not be running is if you are using the Power Vacuum Pick Up or Estate Vacuum accessories.

9. DO YOU OFFER AN ELECTRIC START OPTION?

10. HOW MUCH TIME AND EFFORT WILL I SAVE?
Most people are amazed when we tell them the Cyclone Rake will literally change their life. But don't take our word for it. Check out our testimonials page to hear and read what customers say. And use our free referral service to talk to a neighbor near you who owns one. It will almost certainly save you days or weeks of hard labor every year. For leaf removal, as an example, one person using the Cyclone Rake can do the job of a 3 to 5 man landscaping crew with almost no effort at all. There’s no lifting, dragging, or bagging to do. And debris is mulched so it composts beautifully. It’s far superior to other kinds of leaf removal equipment, such as a leaf blower, grass catcher or lawn sweeper.

11. IS IT JUST FOR LEAF REMOVAL?
The Cyclone Rake is terrific for year round lawn and property care, not just for leaf collection. It will sweep your lawns almost carpet-clean and eliminate 90% or more of the weed seeds that mowers just scatter around. Plus, you’ll be able to mow huge areas without stopping to unload. You can clear overgrown fields and off-lawn areas too. Unlike some other leaf collection equipment, the Cyclone Rake will work for any debris that’s safe for your mower blades.

12. WILL IT PICK UP PINE NEEDLES, PINE CONES, ACORNS, NUTS AND SEED PODS?
Pine needles are an unqualified “yes”. That includes long-needle pine straw, common in the Southeast. For pine cones, acorns, nuts and seed pods, you can expect to get up nearly all of them if they are on bare earth and you set your mower deck to the lowest cutting height and use high-lift blades. If they are deeply buried in thick grass, you may need to rake or blow them into small piles, then drive over them to pick them up. As an alternative, you can use our Power Vacuum Pickup accessory to suck them out of the lawn. The Power Vacuum Pickup will get up just about anything that’s not hard-frozen to the ground.

13. WHAT HAPPENS IF I PICK-UP A HIDDEN STICK?
Well, chances are you won't see that stick again. Anything that’s safe to drive over with your mower blades is OK for the Cyclone Rake. Of course, you should remove heavy sticks, long branches, rocks or anything else that’s not safe for your mower. A quick walk around your property before mowing should always be done if you’re not sure whether something dangerous may be hiding below. Always be aware of what might be hiding under your deep drifts or piles of leaves.

14. DO YOU SELL IN STORES OR THROUGH DISTRIBUTORS?
We only sell the Cyclone Rake factory-direct, which puts you in direct contact with the manufacturer (Hey, that's Us!) and eliminates the markups of distributors and retailers. If you want to see a Cyclone Rake before you order, we have a customer referral program which will put you in touch with neighbors who are real Cyclone Rake owners right in your area. You can talk to them about anything you like, and most will be happy to have you visit. To get referrals, call our Customer Service department at (888) 531-7253 or fill out our online referral request form.

18. WHO REPAIRS THE CYCLONE RAKE WHILE UNDER WARRANTY?
The Cyclone Rake is designed so that all parts are easily replaced by anyone who has ordinary hand tools. Internal engine repairs are handled under warranty by any Briggs & Stratton dealer, of which there are more than 16,000 in the U.S.A. Briggs & Stratton Vanguard engines are very unlikely to malfunction as long as you perform the required maintenance (oil changes, air filters, spark plugs). Most people only need to do this once a year. However, if you do have a problem with your Cyclone Rake or engine, simply give us a call at (888)531-7253 and one of our Service Techs will help you get the parts that you need or put you in touch with a Briggs & Stratton authorized service center.

20. CAN I BUY JUST THE IMPELLER OR LINER?
The impellers and the steel liners are pre-installed into the Blower Rebuild Kits for safety purposes. We use special fasteners, here at the factory, to attach the fittings and the back plate to the blower housing. If you start taking things apart and putting back them back together, it will lessen the integrity of the plastic and cause a safety issue. This is particularly important depending on the age of your Cyclone Rake. Chances are there's already damage to the housing that you can’t see. With our kit, everything gets replaced at the same time keeping the integrity of the unit and you safe.

21. WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE BLOWER REBUILD KIT?
The Blower Rebuild Kit includes the Miracle Impeller and Steel Liner preinstalled into the housing that surrounds it. Plus, we provide all of the proper hardware, tools and instructions you will need to easily and safely make the change.

22. CAN I PURCHASE THE MDA IF I DO NOT OWN A CYCLONE RAKE?
The Mower Deck Adapter(MDA) is designed and built solely for use on a Cyclone Rake. Due to safety and compatibility reasons we don’t sell it individually.

23. I JUST BOUGHT A USED CYCLONE RAKE. CAN I PURCHASE AN MDA FOR MY TRACTOR?
We have engineered dozens of different Mower Deck Adapter (MDA) configurations, and we want to make sure that you get the right one for your tractor. This is especially important if you have purchased a Cyclone Rake 2nd hand. The Cyclone Rake has evolved over the years and yours may not necessarily be what you see online or in our catalog. We will need to ask you a few questions to determine which Cyclone Rake you purchased to make sure you get the proper fit.

24. WHAT TYPE OF OIL SHOULD I USE IN THE ENGINE?
We recommend SAE 30, which is straight 30 weight oil. This type of oil should be used on all of engines supplied with The Cyclone Rake, regardless of how old your rake may be. We also recommend that you change the oil after the first 5 hours of use and then every 20 hours of use, or once a year, whichever comes first for best performance and to maintain your 3-year warranty. When it comes time to change your oil and air filters, we've put together everything you need in our Engine Maintainence Kits to make it easy. Click here for more info.
