ABOUT THE CYCLONE RAKE

WILL THE CYCLONE RAKE WORK WITH MY TRACTOR?
The Cyclone Rake will fit just about any tractor or riding mower as long as the mower deck discharge is on the right hand side (as seen from the driver’s seat). Because there are manufacturers’ variations (even among machines with the same manufacturer’s model number), you will need to talk to a customer service representative at the time of you order, to be sure the correct fit-up parts are specified. You can also visit our how to install page.

DO I NEED A RIDING MOWER TO USE IT?
Yes, but they’re a lot more affordable than you may think. And you’ll never regret owning one. Look for pre- and post-season sales if you’re on a budget.

WHICH CYCLONE RAKE IS BEST FOR ME?
There are several things you should think about when choosing a Cyclone Rake. For example, what size property are you maintaining, how much debris will be collected and what size mower will be used with the Cyclone Rake. Take a look at our comparison chart for more information. Call our customer service experts at (888) 531-7253 to help you decide. You can use our free referral service to contact a neighbor near you who owns a Cyclone Rake, and may have a similar property and debris.

WHAT IS INCLUDED WHEN I PURCHASE A CYCLONE RAKE?
For most people, everything you need to fit up to your tractor. The exceptions are (A) if you don’t have a useable mower deck boot you can purchase ours and (B) a small number of tractors need a custom hitch. These are priced individually depending on the complexity. They are all reasonably priced. A call to our Customer Service department will answer your questions.

WHY DOESN'T THE MOWER DECK ADAPTOR(MDA) COME WITH IT?
Many people already have a mower deck boot for their tractor and donít need an MDA. We do not want to charge them for something they already have. However, we do think our MDA is superior to mower manufacturersí boots, and we do recommend it, but we donít want to force anybody to buy ours.

WHAT IS A 3-POINT HITCH AND
DO I NEED ONE?
The three-point hitch is a standardized method of attching implements (equipment) to tractors. The hitch uses two lower connection points and one upper point which provides a rigid connection. Hydraulic cylinders operate on the lower arms to raise and lower the implement. If the back of your tractor looks like the pictures to the right, then you would need to purchase our 3-Point Hitch Adapter.

DOES THE CYCLONE RAKE MULCH, OR IS IT JUST A VACUUM?
The Cyclone Rake does it all. The patented Miracle Impeller creates 10 times the lifting power of most mowers to vacuum and mulch debris. Since one size does not fit all, the Cyclone Rake vacuum/mulcher and Miracle Impeller are specially designed for each Cyclone Rake model. Check out our features page for more information.

DO MY MOWER BLADES NEED TO BE RUNNING?
The blades on your mower will need to be be running while the Cyclone Rake is in operation. We do recommend using a high lift blade to provide optimal lift in conjunction with the Cyclone Rake vacuum system. The only time the blades would not be running is if you are using the Power Vacuum Pick Up or Estate Vacuum accessories.

DO YOU OFFER AN ELECTRIC START OPTION?
No, because itís not necessary. Our Miracle Impeller is so easy to spin, the starting effort for the Cyclone Rake is far less than other machines. Less than ľ the pull force of some other products. In addition to higher cost, an electric starting system requires a starter motor, a heavy storage battery, a charging alternator and a lot of maintenance worries.

HOW MUCH TIME AND EFFORT WILL I SAVE?
Most people are amazed. Check out our testimonials page to read what customers say. And use our free referral service to talk to a neighbor near you who owns one. It will almost certainly save you days or weeks of hard labor every year. For leaf removal, as an example, one person using the Cyclone Rake can do the job of a 3 to 5 man landscaping crew with almost no effort at all. There’s no lifting, dragging or bagging to do. And debris is mulched to a fraction of original size, so it composts beautifully. It’s far superior to other kinds of leaf equipment, such as a leaf blower or grass catcher.

IS IT JUST FOR LEAF REMOVAL?
The Cyclone Rake is terrific for year round lawn and property care, not just for leaf collection. It will sweep your lawns almost carpet-clean and eliminate 90% or more of the weed seeds that mowers just scatter around. Plus, you’ll be able to mow huge areas without stopping to unload. You can clear overgrown fields and off-lawn areas too. The Cyclone Rake will work for any debris that’s safe for your mower blades.

WILL IT PICK UP PINE NEEDLES, ACORNS, NUTS AND SEED PODS?
Pine needles are an unqualified “yes”. That includes long-needle pine straw, common in the Southeast. For acorns, nuts and seed pods, you can expect to get up nearly all of them if they are on bare earth and you set your mower deck to the lowest cutting height and use high-lift blades. If they are deeply buried in thick grass, you may need to rake or blow them into small piles, then drive over them to pick them up. As an alternative, you can use our Power Vacuum Pickup accessory to suck them out of the lawn. The Power Vacuum Pickup will get up just about anything that’s not hard-frozen to the ground.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I PICK-UP A HIDDEN STICK?
Probably nothing. Anything thatís safe to drive over with your mower blades is OK for the Cyclone Rake. Of course, you should remove heavy sticks, long branches, rocks or anything else thatís not safe for your mower. A quick walk around your property before mowing should always be done if youíre not sure whether something dangerous may be hiding below. For deep leaf drifts itís worthwhile to wade through them with tall boots to uncover anything dangerous that may be hidden.

DO YOU SELL IN STORES OR THROUGH DISTRIBUTERS?
We only sell the Cylone Rake factory-direct, which puts you in direct contact with the manufacturer (us!) and eliminates the markups of distributors and retailers. If you want to see a Cyclone Rake before you order, we have a customer referral program which will put you in touch with neighbors who are real Cyclone Rake owners right in your area. You can talk to them about anything you like, and most will be happy to have you visit. To get referrals, call our Customer Service department at (888) 531-7253 or fill out our online referral request form.

DO YOU OFFER FINANCINGS?
We accept all major credit cards, which you can use to space out your payments. We also accept payments by check, money order. We do not offer independent financing plans.

HOW WILL MY ORDER SHIP AND WHEN CAN I EXPECT IT?
All Cyclone Rake machines are built to order in our West Haven, CT factory. We will supply you with an estimated ship date when you place your order. Cyclone Rake machines normally ship within 2-3 business days of completing your order.
